Precision LP Gas Jeweller's Torch - Advantages
Small & medium torch tips come with the torch. The large rosebud tip No. 3 can be ordered separately for melting or large bangles, belt buckles and the like. Model No. 44 uses less gas, as it is only lit when needed and does not require a pilot flame. Turning the red valve between thumb and forefinger ensures a precise adjustable flame-size.
Regulators and fittings vary according to each country sometimes depending on the size of the gas cylinder. We also offer different regulators. The Australian manufacturer ngp adapts regulators to our specifications to allow the torch to work to its maximum capacity of 600KPa When you buy a new gas cylinder & regulator, take the torch along to make sure it matches. In case the torch does not fit your existing LPGas Cylinder regulator, please take it to your nearest gas supplier to get a correct nut fitted or an adaptor or contact us. Safety:
Gas usage of the Precision LP Gas Torch is: For largest Tip No. 3: 90 litres per hour The Precision LP Gas Jewelers Torch can achieve 1225°C = 2237°F with Propane-Butane Gas, with Razor / MAPP Gas even higher temperatures. (In the material safety data sheet for Liquefied Petroleum Gas the maximum flame temperature for Propane Gas is stated at 1970°C = 3578°F, for Butane Gas 1990°C = 3614°F at a set pressure of 101 KPa & 15°C)

How to set up and operate your Precision LP Gas Torch:
Fuel fittings are left-threaded and tighten to the left. They are standard-marked with a groove on the screw nut. We offer the torch with 3/8" BSP LH = A-fitting or 9/16"18LH= B-fitting (more common in USA) or 5/8" - 18LH if required for some Australian regulators.
Model 44a: adjust pilot flame with the red valve or quickly release full pressure for maximum flame size by pressing the brass knob. Before leaving the workshop shut the valves of torch and gas bottle. Purge all fuel and oxygen lines after daily use to ensure no gas remains in the torch system.
When setting up tank and torch systems or when changing tanks, always check all connections for any possible leaks with soapy water. Top of page |
